Efnasamsetning, rennsli og aurburður
straumvatna á Skaftársvæði í samvinnu við Vatnamælingar Orkustofnunar
(2002-2006). Fjármagnað af Landsvirkjun.
Efnasamsetning, rennsli og aurburður straumvatna á Suðurlandi í samvinnu við
Vatnamælingar Orkustofnunar og Stokkhólmsháskóla (1996-2006). Fjármagnað af
Umhverfisráðuneytinu, Landsvirkjun, Raunvísindastofnun og Auðlindadeild
Orkustofnunar.
Efnasamsetning, rennsli og aurburður straumvatna á Norðvesturlandi í samvinnu
við Vatnamælingar Orkustofnunar (2004-2006). Fjármagnað af Umhverfisráðuneytinu
og Auðlindadeild Orkustofnunar.
Efnavöktun vegna hættu á eldgosi í Eyjafjallajökli og Mýrdalsjökli (1999-2006) í
samvinnu við Vatnamælingar Orkustofnunar. Fjármagnað af tímabundinni
fjárveitingu af fjárlögum.
Efnasamsetning úrkomu á Langjökli (1996-2005). Fjármagnað af Jarðvísindastofnun
Háskóla Íslands.
Samstarfsverkefni við Eric Oelkers við Paul Sabatier háskólann í Toulouse,
Frakklandi (1998-2006). Leysnihraði eldfjallaglers (gjósku). Fjármagnað af
RANNÍS, Rannsóknarsjóði Háskólans, Evrópusambandinu, Raunvísindastofnun og Paul
Sabatier háskólanum í Frakklandi (sjá ritlista SRG).
Samstarfsverkefni við Eric Oelkers og Olek Pokrovsky, Paul Sabatier háskólanum í
Toulouse, Frakklandi (1999-2006). Framburð efna ásoguðum á grugg í íslenskum
straumvötnum. Fjármagnað af RANNÍS, Raunvísindastofnun og Paul Sabatier
háskólanum í Frakklandi.
Samstarfsverkefni við Peter Torssander Stokkhólmsháskóla (1998-2006) um uppruna
brennisteins í íslenskum straumvötnum (sjá ritlista SRG). Fjármagnað af
Landsvirkjun, Umhverfisráðuneytinu og Stokkhólmsháskóla.
Samstarfsverkefnu við Kevin Burton, Open University UK, um samsætur í íslenskum
straumvötnum, tímakvarða efnaveðrunar, og tilraunir á rannsóknarstofu til þess
að skilgreina breytingar á samsætuhlutföllum samfara upplausn basalts í vatni.

(2004-2006). Work in cooperation with the Hydrological Section of the National

Continuous monitoring of rivers draining the Eyjafjallajökull and Mýrdalsjökull
Glaciers, south-eastern Iceland, (1999-2006). Work in cooperation with the
Hydrological Section of the National Energy Authority, Iceland. The study is
supported by the Icelandic government because of possible volcanic eruptions
within the glaciers.
Chemistry of precipitation on the Langjökull Glacier, Iceland (1996-2006). The
study is supported by the Institute of Earth Sciences.
Dissolution rates and dissolution mechanism of volcanic glasses. Work in
cooperation with Eric Oelkers, University of Paul Sabatier, Toulouse, France
(1998-2006) and Domenic Wolff-Boenisch (see above). This study has been

River suspended matter fluxes resulting from adsorption/desorption from river
suspended matter in seawater. Work in cooperation with Eric Oelkers and Oleg

The concentration, isotope composition and origin of sulphur in Icelandic river
waters. Work in cooperation with Peter Torssander, University of Stockholm,
Sweden (1998-2006). This research project has been supported by Landsvirkjun and
the Icelandic Ministry for the Environment, and University of Stockholm, Sweden.
Os and U - isotopes in Icelandic river waters, dissolved and suspended matter.
The timescale for weathering of Icelandic rocks has been studied, and isotope
fractionation during dissolution of basalts, glassy and crystalline will be
studied by experiments in the laboratory. Field and experimental work led by
Kevin Burton, Open University UK, (2004-2006). This research project is
supported by NERC and the Institute of Earth Sciences, University of Iceland.
