On Holy Innocents' Day in December 2000, Peter M. Neumann will be 60. To mark this occasion we are planning to organise a get-together of his former research students, and other friends, collaborators, and well-wishers. The programme will be held in Oxford. The plan, beside the actual birthday party, is to talk mathematics, socialise, enjoy ourselves, spend some time with Peter and get to know each other.
Already close to 50 mathematicians have expressed interest in attending.
Michael Vaughan-Lee (Peter's first DPhil student) is in charge of arrangements. Addresse is at the bottom of this page.
The programme will begin on the afternoon of Friday, the 5th Jan 2001 (so that people can arrive on Friday morning) and end on the afternoon of Sunday, the 7th Jan 2001.

\begin{quote}Those who would like to participate in the musical evening and/or the entertainment programme are asked to let Julia Tompson (julia.tompson@ic.ac.uk) and Meenaxi Bhattacharjee (meenaxi@amsta.leeds.ac.uk) know.
Unfortunately no funds are available to subsidise the costs of travel and accommodation for participants. The approximate cost of bed and breakfast at a college room in Oxford is about £20 per night (current prices). The dinner on Saturday will probably also cost about £25 per head. Michael Vaughan-Lee (vlee@maths.ox.ac.uk) is in charge of local arrangements. Please let him know if you would like him to try and reserve accommodation for you.
