The Science Insitute, established in 1966, is an autonomous research institute within the Faculty of Science of the University of Iceland. The institute is subdivided into the Institute of Earth Sciences and the Institute of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, which both are dedicated to scientific research and higher education.
